Could a video game convince you to take someone’s life?
Saul Marshall arrives in Atlanta in the wake of a shocking incident: a cop with a pristine record has inexplicably massacred peaceful protesters occupying the iconic CNN Center. But Saul, exhausted from months on the run from the law, fails to put up his guard.
But when he is visited in the dead of night by a street gang, deploying extreme and seemingly unprovoked violence, Saul is forced to either get his guard up, or perish. And when he discovers that this same gang has already targeted two of his team-mates from his days serving in the FBI’s elite Hostage Rescue Team, striking back against the gang becomes not just a matter of survival, but revenge.
But once Saul realizes that someone else is calling the shots – a deeply unhinged video-game addict, known only as Red, obsessed with inciting mass civil unrest – he quickly learns there’s a whole lot more.
Richard Davis graduated from University College London in 2011 and Cambridge University in 2012. The Saul Marshall series was born from Davis’s extensive travels around the United States and his long-standing obsession with thriller fiction. He lives in North London, UK, with his girlfriend.

Thanks toThe Fiction Cafe – Review Group for sending me a copy of this book.
This is the first time ready anything from the author I received a copy of this book to review and give my honest opinion. I loved the book, but wished I had read the first two first. I think that I would have gotten to know the characters a little better. It was Fast paced, gritty and tense. What a plot, ingenious. The main character is Saul Marshall, ex-con, exFBI and HRT agent who still feels the need to do what is right for his country. He is laying low in Atlanta when he is attacked by 3 street gang members. He takes out two of them and is trying to escape when one of his former HRT (Hostage Rescue Team) team members’ ex-wife, Rosa, takes out the third guy. They hurry to where her ex-husband Greg is, but he has already been badly beaten. A third HRT team member (Thom) is already dead. I will be looking into reading the first two books from this author. Read this book if you want a very real page turner that will keep you up past your bed time!! I recommend this book.
