Rich People Problems (Crazy Rich Asians Trilogy) By: Kevin Kwan

Hello Hello

I have finished three books this past weekend, and I am here to share one of the reviews that I have finished.

About Book:

From the New York Times bestselling author of Crazy Rich Asians (now a MAJOR MOTION PICTURE) and China Rich Girlfriend, here is the uproarious conclusion to the Crazy Rich Asians Series.

Book Three of the Crazy Rich Asians Series

When Nicholas Young hears that his grandmother, Su Yi, is on her deathbed, he rushes to be by her bedside—but he’s not alone. The entire Shang-Young clan has convened from all corners of the globe to stake claim on their matriarch’s massive fortune. With each family member vying to inherit Tyersall Park—a trophy estate on 64 prime acres in the heart of Singapore—Nicholas’s childhood home turns into a hotbed of speculation and sabotage. As her relatives fight over heirlooms, Astrid Leong is at the center of her own storm, desperately in love with her old sweetheart Charlie Wu, but tormented by her ex-husband—a man hell bent on destroying Astrid’s reputation and relationship. Meanwhile Kitty Pong, married to China’s second richest man, billionaire Jack Bing, still feels second best next to her new step-daughter, famous fashionista Colette Bing. A sweeping novel that takes us from the elegantly appointed mansions of Manila to the secluded private islands in the Sulu Sea, from a kidnapping at Hong Kong’s most elite private school to a surprise marriage proposal at an Indian palace, caught on camera by the telephoto lenses of paparazzi, Kevin Kwan’s hilarious, gloriously wicked new novel reveals the long-buried secrets of Asia’s most privileged families and their rich people problems.

Kevin Kwan is the No. 1 New York Times bestselling author of Crazy Rich Asians, China Rich Girlfriend, and Rich People Problems. Crazy Rich Asians: The Movie has released worldwide by Warner Bros. on August 15th, 2018. Born in Singapore, Kevin has called New York’s West Village home since 1995.

My Thoughts:

In the concluding book of the Crazy Rich Asians trilogy, the center of attention actually falls on Shang Su Yi, the matriarch of the Young-Leong-Cheng families. She has fallen ill and with her death approaching, her entire family returns to Singapore.  I read the first two in the trilogy, I liked the second book better than the first one.  I also seen the movie to the first book, and thought it was a little on the dry side.  I thought the third book was okay, but some of the chapters were long and repetitive and I might add a little boring.  This one is good, and I am glad that I finished the series, but I found the plot just got to be too ridiculous and random and the characters to be unbelievable. After a long wait list from the library and finally getting the email that I could download, what a disappointment, I glad that borrowed it library instead of purchasing it, as I don’t think I will be reading it again.

In my opinion, I feel the author rushed this book, to finish his trilogy and didn’t take his time in this one.
