The Women Behind Her – Anna Willett (e-Book)

I’m about 3/4 of the way through this and I’m really enjoying it.  I’m looking forward to see how it ends

Sometimes I Lie – Alice Feeny (eBook)

I’m only about 50 pages in and I don’t think I’ve picked it up in over a week, it’s really slow paced and I find myself wanting to pick other books up rather than this.

Review of……

Dead in Venice By Fiona Leitch

51VeFuWN-QL._SX331_BO1,204,203,200_

Bella Tyson is a famous 40-something crime writer suffering from writer’s block ever since a bitter divorce two years before. When a fan offers her the use of an apartment in Venice, Bella jumps at it, hoping a change of scene will have her writing again. Once there, she soon meets Will, a charming Englishman, who shows her around the city.

Enchanted by both Will and her new surroundings, Bella decides to write a supernatural murder mystery and begins researching local legends and the city’s more sinister side, including an illicit visit to the island of Poveglia, spooky former home of Venice’s asylum. Soon Bella uncovers more than she has bargained for and finds herself enmeshed in a series of gruesome real-life murders that uncannily mirror the legends she is researching.

As she and Will join forces to investigate, real life and local lore merge disconcertingly – for nothing in Venice turns out to be what seems, including Will….

My Thoughts:

I received a copy of this book from The Fiction Cafe – Review Group and publishers for an honest review – Thank you

This is the first that I have read from this author.   It was well-written and well-paced novel and kept me wanting to know more about Venice.

This is a great romantic tour of the sights of Venice….not, although it is obviously set in Venice, and there is a smattering of romance, it is also a grotty tale of intrigue and murder.  I enjoyed it, and it was a fast read.  I am hoping that there will be a sequel to this.  If you are looking for a fast – paced book, then give this one a try.  I am giving this 5 Stars.

Goodreads Monday

I follow this book blog and seen this so, I thought I would share it with you all.  my-post-11

Goodreads Monday is a weekly meme that was started by @Lauren’s Page Turners. The meme is pretty easy to follow, to participate simply choose a random book from your TBR and explain why you want to read it!

After randomizing via Goodreads (going to my to-read shelf, scrolling down and putting sort order by random) the following book tumbled first from that crowded shelf…

So I have this one book that I finally decided to buy since I was having a hard time getting it at my local library…..

Friend Request by Laura Marshall

41GbEcKPiyL._SX329_BO1,204,203,200_

Summary from Goodreads :

Maria Weston wants to be friends. But Maria Weston is dead. Isn’t she?

1989. When Louise first notices the new girl who has mysteriously transferred late into their senior year, Maria seems to be everything the girls Louise hangs out with aren’t. Authentic. Funny. Brash. Within just a few days, Maria and Louise are on their way to becoming fast friends.

2016. Louise receives a heart-stopping email: Maria Weston wants to be friends on Facebook. Long-buried memories quickly rise to the surface: those first days of their budding friendship; cruel decisions made and dark secrets kept; the night that would change all their lives forever.

Louise has always known that if the truth ever came out, she could stand to lose everything. Her job. Her son. Her freedom. Maria’s sudden reappearance threatens it all, and forces Louise to reconnect with everyone she’d severed ties with to escape the past. But as she tries to piece together exactly what happened that night, Louise discovers there’s more to the story than she ever knew. To keep her secret, Louise must first uncover the whole truth, before what’s known to Maria–or whoever’s pretending to be her–is known to all.

Surprised to see this one pop up randomly as I was checking to see if it was available on Kindle Unlimited and my local library.  But still no luck, its not available at my local library, and I haven’t seen it on Kindle Unlimited.  But I did find it on my Ibooks, so you guessed it I bought it.

I have heard and read so many good things about the book and author.  I also have seen great reviews for this book.  So now that I have purchased it I will see just how great it is.  Can’t wait to start this one.

My Thoughts

I would like to thank the Fiction Care Review and the publishers for a ARC copy of this book for an honest review.

WOW another great read.  I recommend that you read the Helen first Book Lost Girls before you read this one, as there are several references to the previous story and there is an assumption throughout that you know who each of the characters mentioned are.  This book was fast paced and kept my interest till the end.

A perfectly paced supense/thriller that keeps you hanging on right till the end. A must read series.  I am giving this a 5-star review, and I can’t wait to see if there is a continuation of this series.  I highly recommend this Author and her books.

My Review:

I would like to thank the Fiction Care Review and the publishers for a ARC copy of this book for an honest review.

‘Another brilliant book in the Cavendish and Walker series. This is book three. Exciting clever plot which has the detectives scratching their heads.’

After reading Deadly Games, the first Walker and Cavendish novel, I set out on a binge read – on to Fatal Justice and finally Death Track. I couldn’t wait to read this one.  This is an excellent detective story with many twists and turns but always moving forward

This book had me from the beginning to the end, I am loving her series and this one was not a disappointment.  I hope that there will be another one.

‘Once again Sally has come through with an AWESOME read!’ Goodreads 5 star
