Wow Wow what an awesome read.

I have heard about this author and up until now, I have not; read anything by him.  Now I will be looking for more of his book.  This book had me at the edge of my seat and I could not put it down.

Whose name would you give? Come on we all have that one person right?

What would you do if you were offered a deal; make one phone call, just 29 seconds, say one name and that person would disappear forever. Would you do it? Could you live with yourself after? That’s a decision that Sara had to make.  Sarah is a Ph.D. working at a local and prestigious England university under a male department head who is a lascivious sexual predator.

One day, Sarah is driving and she spots a situation and comes to the aid of a young girl who she perceives to be in danger. She reports this to the Police but they find no further evidence of wrong doing so that investigation fades away. But she knows what she saw and she can’t understand it. Then, one day, her actions are rewarded. It appears that she has done right by a very powerful man who insists that he is now in her debt and he gives her a rather interesting, one time only, time limited offer; an offer that could really help her. An offer she initially refuses to even contemplate but then, on reflection, along with more frustration, one she accepts. But things are never as easy as they seem. Could this be too good to be true?  What would you do?  There were a few twists and turns, that I had no idea where things were going and how it would end up. And a few times I was getting annoyed with some of the decisions Sarah made. But have to say I was quite surprised and happy (sorry hope that is not a spoiler).

Again I have to say this book was awesome.

My Review:

This is not my usual sort of book but I have heard a lot about it through a Facebook group that I am in and WOW this book was awesome.   It was a real page-turner of a book.

It’s the first that I have read anything from this author and it won’t be my last, on the lookout for her other books.

Straight from the beginning I was hooked, I found it fascinating how different the twins were and that they did not get along at all.  Imaginative and creative, witty and current.  In addition, Giovanna’s tour of Italy had me really thinking I transported to Italia. Such a great read.

My Review:

I didn’t like the writing style of this book. I felt like some phrases and idioms were used over and over, possibly for emphasis but I found it annoying. Especially since there were three authors behind this book.

There are two main characters in this book Stella and Will.  Stella seems like she’s in control where all Will has on his mind is just to get out of the hospital.  I didn’t know what the disease was so I have to google it, and after reading more about it, I thought I could get into the story a little more, but I had to push myself to read it.  I thought the ending was two predictable and I am hoping that the moving is much better. I am giving 3.5 stars.   I was a fan of the John Green’s Fault of out Stars, and this is nowhere near that.

I enjoyed this book, at first it took me awhile to get into I, has it started out slow, but once I got past the first 3 chapters I had a hard time putting it down.  I really thought I had worked out who had committed the murders but I was so wrong!  Its unique story and twist leaves you wanting more.  You will be shocked when you find out who really committed the murders.  This is a book that you don’t want to miss.

I will be definitely looking more from this author.  I like her style of writing, that kept me guessing.  I highly recommend this book.

WOW where and how do I review this one?  This is kind of a hard review to write.

I’ve read many survivor memoirs, including the well known ones. This book rings truer than most. Madeline Black just tells her story. She tells the true story of how she healed the effects of a brutal rape. How she chose forgiveness and went onto live a fulfilling life in spite of the trauma.  It took a lot of courage for Madeline to share her story about different experiences in her life that got her to process her trauma again and ‘grow out’ of it and realize that she is not what’s been done to her. , I found myself putting this book down just to digest what she must have been going through, but then I thought to myself why didn’t she open up before when here parents were asking what was going on.

I recommend this book to anyone who has struggled with rape.  I am giving this book 5 stars.  I will be on the lookout for more from this author, I like her style of writing.

It is a powerful memoir, which inspires hope, faith and courage.

My Review:

Not sure where to start on this one, but it just wasn’t what I thought.  And here is my review of this book.

In deciding to read this book; I looked at the reviews from different site and seen that it had a lot of 5 star rating, but I have to admit that I didn’t really feel the same.  This was the second time that I had read it, thinking maybe after seeing the reviews I would get a different view of it; but, I didn’t and I feel that the five star reviews are a little bit overboard on this, I know we all have different opinions.  I found the book to start out in a confused muddled way and there is a mystery of a murdered man that just gets referred to as my husband. My questions was how and who had done it.   I just could not relate to the characters, found them to leave me with too many unanswered questions or trying to see where the plot was leading me.  I felt that it became long-winded and didn’t go anywhere for most of the book.  A few chapters at the end of the book it seemed to picked up but let the main character hanging and me wondering.  My rating on this is a 3.5.

I am grateful to The Fiction Café – Review Group and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for the honest review.  I have never ready anything by Katharine Johnson but I will be looking for more of her books.

Are you looking for a great read, well this book is awesome.  Has a few twists and turns and makes you wonder who to trust.  The Suspects is a gripping page turner, full of strong characters with dark pasts and secrets – all revealed at just the right moments – by talented thriller writer, Katharine Johnson. There are five graduates who buy a house together despite knowing know very little of each other except from outside of their work place.  They decided to throw a New Years Eve party that end bad.  A body found in the basemen; the questions started, what happened who did it and what should they do?  Call the cops; Cover it up.  Well they decided to cover it up.  Now the secrets, lies and who they can trust game.

I loved each character; each had different view and flaw of what they wanted each to believe.  I found that this book was faced paced and kept me wanting to find out what was happening next and had me guessing what was going to happen next.

If you are into psychological thrillers and this is one that you, do not want to miss reading.  I highly recommend this book.

This is the first book that I have read from this author, and it won’t be my last.  What an awesome book.  The first chapter of this book had me wondering and from there on I could not put this book down. This is a tale of the power of fear…….of corruption, brutality and also of the strength and kindness of strangers.

I dare you to read the first chapter and not continue on… impossible.  This book was addictive and had me wondering why is he running and what are his ties to the injured man?  Little does he know that he becomes the prime suspect of the arson attack in Melbourne; and on the run now he has no choice but to stay hidden.   This is an author had me up past my bed time just so that I could read what was happening, I really enjoyed this book,  and will be looking for more from this author.   My rating on this is 5-stars.  I recommend this to all.

My Review:

I know this is an extremely popular book. I did not like it at all,  The whole book dragged along , I forced myself to finish but disliked the energy that was no where. The whole tone was monotone.

I really don’t believe ìn most of what she wrote. Mostly the education part of the book. It is impossible. Never studied trigonometry…algebra…and she magically had an 28 ACT. She was so poor and then she went to BYU with her few dollars.  You don’t just teach yourself trigonometry.   Sadly, this book is not encouraging or inspiring, but dark and depressing till the end.

Sorry this book was just too unreal for me.  This is just my opinion, I am giving this 3 stars.

About Author:

Heather Morris is a native of New Zealand, now resident in Australia. For several years, while working in a large public hospital in Melbourne, she studied and wrote screenplays, one of which was optioned by an Academy Award-winning screenwriter in the US. In 2003, Heather was introduced to an elderly gentleman who ‘might just have a story worth telling’. The day she met Lale Sokolov changed both their lives. Their friendship grew and Lale embarked on a journey of self-scrutiny, entrusting the innermost details of his life during the Holocaust to her. Heather originally wrote Lale’s story as a screenplay – which ranked high in international competitions – before reshaping it into her debut novel, The Tattooist of Auschwitz.

My Review:

”Based on an incredible true story” as this states on the cover, this is the story of Lale Sokolov and Gita, the woman who he meets at Auschwitz, both prisoners there.

After a long wait from the library, I finally received an email that; it was now available to me and I absolutely loved it. What a wonderful, miraculous story of love and perseverance in amongst the horror and devastation of Auschwitz.  There are times you read books for entertainment and times you read for knowledge. This may be a bit of both because it involves a love story too – Lale and Gita. But oh, the horror of their situation.

This is the first that I have heard of this author / Screenplay writer, and I have to say that I really liked her style of writing. I hope to find more from this author in the future.

I have read other books about the Holocaust but this left me really thinking of those that were affected by it, and how it effects some that are still alive.  I highly recommend reading this book.

I am definitely giving this 5 stars.
